Description
George II sterling silver tankard, Joseph Jackson, Dublin, 1749. Slightly flared body with a circular base and a wavy, chiseled decoration along the lower part. Domed, hinged lid with grooves and shell and bead motifs. Elaborate, curved handle with beaded rib. Foliated scroll thumbpiece. Crest engraved on the side of the body, with heraldic shield and motto.
Sterling silver marked with 4 hallmarks:
