Refined Luigi XV style game table, made in Genoa around the mid-18th century. With a convex triangular shape, it can be opened like a book and reveals a playing surface covered in green cloth, perfectly preserved, inside.
The structure is elegantly shaped and rests on four arched "en cabriole" legs, faithful to the rococo style, with wavy bands and two perfectly integrated side drawers. The furniture is entirely veneered in violet wood, with rosewood inserts inlaid with a central "heart" motif, which gives the work a decorative effect of particular warmth and refinement.
A work of high Ligurian cabinet-making, executed with great technical skill and decorative sensibility, it represents a perfect balance between functionality and formal beauty, an expression of the aristocratic Genoese taste of the eighteenth century.
