Gaetano Pesce for Fish Design, Set of 8 vases, 1995, signed.
“Soft Resin Vases - Fish Design by Gaetano Pesce, 1995: The Imperfect Beauty of Form.”
Measurements: H 36/37 cm.
This collection of soft resin vases was designed by Gaetano Pesce for Fish Design in 1995 and represents one of the most emblematic examples of the Italian designer's experimental and unconventional approach.
Made of colored polyurethane resin, these vases are distinguished by their organic and irregular shapes, which challenge the traditional idea of symmetry and perfection. Each piece is unique, thanks to the manual production process that makes it impossible to replicate two of them the same: random drippings, deliberately imperfect deformations and vivid color combinations are the main features.
The colors are intense and contrasting-yellow, red, black, green, blue, orange-often overlapping or interwoven in unpredictable ways. The surfaces appear fluid, layered and sometimes threadlike, accentuating the tactile and visual sensation of matter in motion.
These objects embody Pesce's radical aesthetic, based on formal freedom, the individuality of the object and the breaking of the rules of industrial design. Not just containers, but true functional sculptures, Fish Design's vases transform the space in which they are found, bringing with them an ironic, vibrant and deeply contemporary language.
