Circle of Ippolito Scarsella, known as lo Scarsellino Italiano, (Ferrara, 1550 or 1551 – Ferrara, October 28, 1620)
“Adoration of the Magi“ (1580/1600)
The work, of excellent quality and mature pictorial execution, fits perfectly into the context of Emilian Mannerism, between the end of the sixteenth and the beginning of the seventeenth century, with direct evidence that can associate it with the modus pingendi of Scarsellino, Ippolito Scarsella, known as lo Scarsellino Italiano, (Ferrara, 1550 or 1551 – Ferrara, October 28, 1620).
The painting, oil on canvas from the end of the 16th century, is superbly decorative, of good executive quality and distinguished by a drawing with vigorous lines, with a marked chiaroscuro effect.
The work is in a good state of conservation, the canvas is healthy, it has scattered retouching on the surface and small losses of color in some points of the painting (see photos) - the frame is antique and coeval (end of the 16th century)
Like all our objects, the work is sold with a photographic certificate of authenticity in accordance with the law with an expert opinion.
