This walnut credenza, made in Genoa in the 18th century, is an authentic example of Ligurian cabinetmaking of the period. The doors are embellished with elegant panels sculpted with radiant star motifs, typical of the local Baroque aesthetic, which combined formal sobriety with a decisive and harmonious decorative taste.
The compact and well-proportioned structure reflects the functionality required by the domestic furnishings of the time, while maintaining a strong scenic presence thanks to the warm patina of the walnut and the sinuous lines of the base and the molded top.
The Genoese workshops of the 18th century were known for the high quality of their workmanship and for the skillful use of solid wood, often obtained from the finest local essences. This piece of furniture represents a perfect synthesis of solidity, elegance and territorial identity.
