19th-century Italian terracotta sculpture depicting the famous Venus de' Medici, a work derived from a 1st-century BC Greek marble sculpture, either the original or perhaps a free copy/interpretation of a lost 3rd-century BC Greek original. The Venus was acquired by Francesco de' Medici in 1584 and is now on display in Florence at the Uffizi Gallery.
