Zatta Antonio, The Duchy of Mantua of New Projection, Venice 1781. Geographical map taken from the work of the publisher Antonio Zatta, "Atlante novissimo, illustrato ed accresciuto sulle osservazioni, e scoperte fatte dai più celebri e più recenti geografi" (Very New Atlas, illustrated and enlarged with the observations and discoveries made by the most famous and most recent geographers). Published in Venice between 1775 and 1785, engraved in etching and burin. The plates were mainly designed by Giovanni Pitteri and engraved by Giuliano Zuliani with beautiful original coloring. In the upper right, on a stone surrounded by vegetation, the inscription on a cartouche reads "The Duchy of Mantua of New Projection, Venice 1781 by Antonio Zatta With Privilege of the Most Excellent Senate." The map clearly marks the inhabited areas and waterways. The sheet has a vertical fold and is in good condition apart from minimal spotting and is supplied within a modern frame.
