Description George II sterling silver lidded ewer, London, 1734. Flared body with a subtly molded stepped circular base. Finely chased floral and foliate engravings on the surface, heraldic crest engraved in the center of the body. Domed lid with chased floral decorations, hinged and surmounted by a shaped grip. Expanded spout with decorative perforations. Shaped and curved handle. Sterling silver hallmarked with 4 hallmarks: Maker's mark: unidentified Lion passant: alloy mark.
