This beautiful pair of Views depicting two of the most famous sites in Venice, Piazza San Marco towards the Basilica and the pier from the San Marco basin, are the work of Gabriel Bella (Venice 1730 - 1799).
The author's fame is mainly linked to the collection of 67 paintings, now in the Pinacoteca of the Querini Stampalia scientific foundation, to which Ascanio Giustinian had entrusted Gabriel Bella in the eighties with the execution of the series of views celebrating the most significant festivals and events of the Republic.
