Carved and polychrome wooden shelf, central Italy, 18th century.
Elegant wall shelf carved in solid wood, finely sculpted and decorated with vegetal elements, volutes, and heraldic motifs. The structure is distinguished by its impressive volute shape, typical of Baroque aesthetics, and its original polychromy in shades of white, vermilion red, and gold leaf gilding.
At the center stands a relief medallion with an inscribed quatrefoil motif, surrounded by acanthus leaves and golden curls, an element that gives the object a strong decorative and symbolic value.
