Measurements: of the clock cm. h. 92.5x45x18.
French manufacture. Anonymous.
Lacquered red case, using the technique called "vernis Martin"; decoration of floral bouquets, with applications of chiseled and varnished gilded bronzes. Beautiful bronze ornamentation with a small rooster under a pergola on top and phytoform motifs on the door.
Enameled dial, with black Roman numerals and minutes in Arabic numerals, in fives, on the outside, pierced brass hands.
Square movement with two winding barrels, one for the time and the other for the chime. Hour and quarter chime, on two bells by means of a star-pierced divider wheel. Double anchor escapement, called Chevalier de Bethune. Care must be taken when setting the time to turn the minute hand very slowly and to have all the chimes sound when passing before moving on, because this escapement is very delicate. Thread-suspended pendulum.
Original antique shelf.
Excellent condition.
