Splendid flap desk, likely from the Romagna region, dating to the first half of the 18th century, serpentine at the front and flared at the sides, with walnut and rosewood plating and maple stringing dividing the different types of burr wood. The linings on the back and drawers are all from the same period and are made of fir wood, which indicates that it can be placed in the Apennine area between Marche and Romagna.
This is a fairly rare piece of furniture in excellent condition, as it is original in every part. If requested, we will arrange for polishing and cleaning by our trusted restorer. The furniture is offered at a bargain price.
