P235 - Fireback plate with rare still life decoration consisting of tools for working in the fields and earth products, in cast iron. Cast iron plates were used, before the birth of refractory bricks, to protect the wall from fire and to improve the efficiency of the fireplace by continuing to emit heat for some time even after the fire went out. 19th century.
