Splendid walnut burr trumeau, richly inlaid with floral motifs typical of Dutch manufacture. There are over 10 polychrome woods in the inlay. The lower section is divided into 4 drawers, with a curved front and resting on plinth rear feet and scroll front feet, in vogue until about 1770: this is a more refined type than the more common vase or inverted pear shape. The upper section has two closed shaped doors, also inlaid inside, on the solid oak. Original locks and hardware. Inside the drop-front desk, the cabinet is divided into small drawers and pigeonholes, as well as a sliding top. Two candlestick-holder rods complete the piece of furniture.
