The scene above depicts a serene landscape in which human figures, likely from the popular or noble classes, are immersed in the tranquility of the countryside, while in the background, architecture and a bridge crossing the river stand out. The soft tone of the sky and the rich vegetation contribute to creating a visual harmony typical of the Venetian school, which exalts naturalistic details.
The lower painting presents a landscape with a more dynamic composition, where figures of men and women move through the landscape with the outline of rocks and waterways creating an interesting contrast with the intensity of the scene. The orange-toned sky gives an effect of luminosity that gives the work a feeling of warmth. This contrast between the movement of the figures and the calmness of nature is a distinctive feature of many Venetian works of this period.
The carved and gilded wooden frames, which frame both paintings, are original and perfectly adapt to the 18th-century style, further enriching the overall value and beauty of the work.
