Biography:
Mario Schifano (Homs 1934 - Rome 1998), an artist with a rebellious and biting soul, is now considered one of the most prolific painters of the post-war period. He immediately attracted criticism by creating monochrome paintings that offer the idea of a photographic screen that will later accommodate numbers, letters, road signs, and the brands of Esso and Coca Cola. He lived in New York where he met Frank O'Hara, Jasper Johns and Andy Warhol. His solo exhibitions are set up in Rome, Paris and Milan.
