Rare walnut and burr walnut center desk, with a riser and a closable cabinet commonly called "San Filippo". Furniture of this kind was placed in the studies of the most illustrious figures during the 17th century. The piece in question, in excellent condition, dates back to the first half of the 17th century and originates from Tuscany. The heraldic coat of arms with double heraldry indicates that the furniture was built to honor the marriage between two nobles of different families and the reference to the Piccolomini lunettes suggests that it is a high-ranking family from the Sienese territories.
