This is a wonderful, rare and authentic 'Pâte-de-Verre' hand-blown glass table lamp, designed by (probably) Charles Schneider at the Epinay-sur-Seine factory in Paris, dating back, I would say, to the period between the post-World War I era and the late 1930s. It is depicted in a stylized mushroom shape with lampshade and base made using the Pâte-de-Verre technique. Green, blue, pink and orange color on a matte white background with the lampshade supported by three rays with decorative grape cluster-shaped ends, while both the lampshade and base are illuminated when turned on. It is marked on the lower edge of the lampshade and base with the hand-etched Le Verre Francais mark and a Lorraine cross - see photographs and details.
It measures approximately (50 cm) in height x (25 cm) in maximum width (18 cm at the base of the lampshade); and is in excellent condition, with no defects to report: see photographs and details again.
This is a wonderful piece of vintage French Art Déco hand-blown glass by a master of the field, with a truly unique design and in excellent condition, working (see illuminated photographs), realistically priced low which should arouse considerable interest from all collectors. Its dimensions and proportions are perfect for a home environment: not too imposing but large enough to make a significant impression.
