The elegant pair of armchairs was made in Turin around the mid-18th century, the Louis XV period.
Each armchair is in gilded and carved wood with typical rocaille decorations called "a pannocchietta". The backrest, of graceful proportions and not very large, has wavy and mixtilinear sides. It culminates with a rich decoration with vegetal motifs which is repeated on the lower side with an asymmetrical molding that enhances the movement and dynamism of the ornaments. The armrests are wavy and end in a curl before connecting to the seat. The band under the seat and the legs, wavy and arched, are carved, reproducing the type of rocaille decoration with phytomorphic elements.
The pair of armchairs, upholstered in green silk, is very elegant and of beautiful proportions, easily adaptable to any environment, displayed in pairs or individually. The shine of the gold, enhanced by the rich carving, makes each armchair suitable for being combined with both period furniture and contemporary furniture.
