Lacquered Reliquary Box

Lacquered Reliquary Box of French origin from the 1800s, built in oak wood and lacquered with a gray/friar's robe background with decorations of palmettes and racemes in shades of white; on the lid in an oval field is painted in Gothic characters the inscription Reliqie. The lid has a visible hook closure. Interior painted in blue. The frame of the base of the box has a small missing piece in the lower right.
