Rare and important,
Large rectangular inlaid Rolo table,
with baluster stem and shaped feet with inverted scrolls,
called "Prussian" due to the particular appreciation
that this type of furniture enjoyed on the German market.
Made in Rolo (RE) in the second half of the 19th century, in solid walnut wood
and inlays of various woods (cherry, maple, plum, etc.)
and superbly preserved, it reproduces a very particular and very rare design,
in the most refined Rolo inlay: "Floral motifs and musical instruments"
on an ebonized background in a meticulous and particularly valuable watercolor inlay.
The order of inlay is very fine and precise,
where geometric elements frame the central motif, to which stylized geometric borders are added.
Classic, the turned and inlaid foot with inverted cups,
characteristic of the Eclectic period, which testifies to the particular skill of the Rolo cabinet makers.
Unsurpassable in size and proportions.
Viewing and possible on-site collection is welcome.
No restoration recommended.
