Baroque console

Elegant gilded console from the Baroque period (Louis XIV), from the Papal States/Rome. The top is in faux pink marble. A particularly distinctive detail is the sculpted face of a figure characteristic of the time in the production of the Papal States, surrounded by decorations with plant motifs and volutes that extend towards the sides. The legs are richly carved and integrated into a single structure with the base. The lower part of the console closes with a shaped and decorated base, which provides further stability and a sense of stylistic continuity.
