Oil on panel depicting a scene narrated in the Gospel of John, in which Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well. This work of some artistic interest is probably attributable, in terms of scenographic setting and characterization of the figures, to the Bolognese environment of the early 17th century. The painting is of good quality, with a proportionate rendering of the figures in the foreground in front of Jacob's well placed in the center of the scenic construction, while a large classical column in ruins emerges slightly behind.
The landscape that opens on the horizon leads towards a city in the distance with fairytale flavors. The frame on which the panel is mounted is in red lacquer and is original and contemporary to the painting.
The dimensions of the panel are: 22 cm x 32 cm. The dimensions including the frame are: 37 cm x 45 cm.
We attach to the sale of this painting a historical certificate of guarantee from our antique gallery.
