Late 19th century Black Forest planter. Made of richly carved walnut wood. The four feet, like the supporting stem, are carved in the guise of gnarled branches on which ivy branches twist, resting on two feet there are two carved dogs. The branches climb up the stem, decorating a manger resting on the trunk on all sides. On the front we have a complex carved iconography celebrating the hunt, all made in a refined carving. On top, an eagle grabs a snake in its beak, in the center a wild boar hunting scene in which a hunting dog is suffering the prey's escape as it overwhelms it, below we find a panoply with a bow and quiver. A zinc tub protects the carving from the humidity of flowers. Minor flaws.
