The archaic and rigid style in which the image of a saint is carved suggests that the author should be sought in the cultural area between Lunigiana and Liguria in the early 16th century, a meeting place for artists attracted by the territory linked to the economy of the precious Apuan marble, which saw the convergence of Lombard (Gaggini), Lucchese-Versilian (Riccomanni) and Florentine (Andrea Guardi) exponents.
