Circle of Joseph Danhauser or himself. Vienna circa 1820. Wonderful chair with a "timeless" design in absolutely perfect condition. This is an object of museum quality that needs no further comment. It is veneered in cherrywood on a maple and pear wood structure. French polish refurbished to a real shellac on the original patina. Original upholstery (excluding the external black satin, of course). H.94, seat 45, W.46, D.46. A very similar chair was exhibited at the International Exhibition held at the Louvre and the Albertina in Vienna "Biedermeier, die Erfindung der Heinfacheit, the invention of simplicity." Year 2006.
