Pair of Inlaid Louis XV Desks, a rare pair of 18th-century walnut and burr walnut veneered desks, from the Lombardy-Veneto area, in good condition. The front is divided into three and a half drawers separated by crossbars, finely threaded and veneered, decorated with burr reserves within a shaped threaded and veneered herringbone frame. The same decoration is repeated on the straight sides and on the drop-front. The drop-front conceals six small drawers inside. A further secret drawer can be found in the side moulding below the upper top. Frames and mouldings are all made of end grain wood. This rare pair of 18th-century desks rests on scroll feet and has a structure built in fir wood, with original finishes and locks. The excellent quality of the woods and their skillful combination with unique cabinet-making mastery distinguishes this pair of extraordinary 18th-century furnishings, a pendant rarely found on the market. They come from a private Milanese collection. Height: 119 cm Width: 122 cm Depth: 57 cm COD: A1429
