Valuable oil on cardboard from 1850-60 by Ildephonse Stocquart (Geraardsbergen, 1819 - Brussels, 1889) c.a with refined original gilded leaf frame. Of excellent pictorial quality, the painting depicts an approaching storm. Ildephonse Stocquart (Geraardsbergen, 1819 - Brussels, 1889) was a Belgian painter mainly of landscapes and animals. He mainly painted in etching and was a pupil of Julien Joseph Ducorron at the art academy of Aat. Some of his works are kept at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Belgium and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Signed lower right. Measurements cm. 60x70 only work cm. 40 x 52. In excellent condition.
