P/1416 - Extraordinary carpet knotted in Kirman, in the south-eastern area of Iran around the mid-20th century, bearing a very particular decoration composed of a midnight blue field that from the edges of the carpet reaches the large central composition, where a red background frame and floral designs, surrounds a wonderful "painting" of a flowery landscape, with trees and fluttering birds. The overall effect is of great beauty, especially because the entire work has been executed with a very dense knotting, which therefore allows for remarkable sharpness of detail.
