His stylistic imprint brilliantly combines the optical clarity of Van Wittel and Lint with the tradition of the ideal landscape made famous by Van Bloemen. In Anesi, however, one perceives a 'romantic' sensibility, reinforced by a particular attention to luminous values, contiguous to the examples of Venetian landscape painting popularized by Marco Ricci and Francesco Zuccarelli. Contributing to identifying the territory in which we find ourselves are the ruins of a Roman arch, evoking the idea of the landscape surrounding the city of Rome, and the course of the Tiber which marks the balanced overlapping of the perspective planes, which can be traveled with the eye through the course of the river itself. The effect is of a pleasant scenic impact, not only for the accuracy with which the landscape is described, but also for the skillful harmony of chromatic and luminous counterpoints. The scenography, although respectful of reality, betrays for atmospheric values ??a fantasy suited to transfiguring the view, reproducing the atmospheric sensitivity of the air imbued with light, evoking a delicate Arcadian emotion. The painting is in excellent condition, perfectly restored, accompanied by a pleasant gilded gold leaf frame.
