Pair of carved and gilded sconces, Venice 18th century

Superb pair of sconces in richly carved and gilded wood, with figures of grotesque masks at the apex and at the base. Applied to each base is a two-light candlestick; the internal mirror of each one bears the figure of a Venetian character in period costume. These are two objects in perfect condition, datable to the first half of the 18th century, Venice (Louis XV style). cm. 48 x 90h N.B.
