Eugène Petit (1839 - 1886) French School A well-known exponent of French 'peinture fleuriste' (flower painting) which was in vogue in the 19th century. He also specialized in animal painting, particularly hunting dogs. Oil painting on canvas depicting a vase of light-colored flowers on a dark background, signed in the lower right.
