Carved and silvered wood
Venice, Louis XVI period

Total height 107 cm
Beautiful lacquered and silvered wooden sculpture depicting a cherub on a tripod base, standing in full figure.
Of good size and entirely sculpted in the round with arms raised to hold a round tray on which to place a vase or lamp.
The movement of the body, slightly curved to maintain balance, is very elegant.
The three-sided base with three feral paws is typical of the 18th century.
It is a very elegant sculpture made in the second part of the 18th century in Louis XVI style to illuminate the corner of a room in a Venetian palace.
It has been perfectly restored with the restoration to perfection of the silvering and is in excellent condition.
The part below the base (not visible) has not been restored so that the era can be ascertained. (see photo).
