Painting Waiting for the Battle

Oil on canvas. The large scene is set outside a rocky fortress and features a garrison of soldiers preparing for battle: in the foreground on the left, near a tree, the group of commanders on horseback watch the work and give out orders, while the troops arm cannons on the stands, prepare rudimentary spears and sharpen white weapons. The colors are clear and muted, with shades of gray ranging from the clear sky with clouds to the rocky fortress, to get lost in the ground turning a sandy beige; only some of the officers' uniforms stand out, breaking the chromatic uniformity. Restored and relined, the painting is presented in a gilded frame from the early 20th century. Product Condition: Product in good condition, has small signs of wear.
