Louis XV drop-front desk, in walnut, walnut burl, and cherry wood fillets, Emilian manufacture from the first half of the 18th century, measuring 110 x 110 x 56 cm.
The characteristic Emilian style blends very well with Venetian influences in this very fine drop-front desk from the advanced Louis XV period. The walnut burl is used with the technique of juxtapositions and strong borders that we sometimes find in Romagna chests of drawers from the 18th century.
Elegant three-drawer drop-front desk, with a double undulating central movement and corbel supports, entirely veneered in walnut burl, bearing a shaped lid concealing a cabinet formed by five drawers and a small cabinet with a rather unusual but truly effective and curious internal movement, always in walnut and walnut burl.
The piece of furniture, of remarkable beauty and excellent cabinetmaking level, is entirely veneered on the entire external and internal surface to better highlight the walnut burl from Ferrara, the flagship of Emilian Louis XV cabinetmaking.
The skillful construction of the piece of furniture shows us a quality manufacture, able to arrange the wood species in a skillful way on the drop-front desk in order to highlight the magnificent colors of the piece of furniture itself.
