Hunting Diana
marble high-relief sculpted panel
cm 20×43
The goddess of the hunt is lying in a lascivious pose on the bare ground, with a light peplos covering her limbs, leaving her shoulders and beautiful profile exposed, framed by elegantly styled locks on the nape of her neck. An arm raised to show the bow, while the quiver with arrows rests on the ground. Behind her is a hare, the result of the hunt, while in front of her a nervous-looking greyhound approaches her. On the far left, a leafy tree.
