"Idyllic Pastoral Landscape"
Attributed to Francesco Zuccarelli (Pitigliano 1702 - Florence 1788)
Oil on canvas
Mid-18th century period
Beautiful gilded coeval frame.
Canvas measurements 56 x 44, frame 72 x 60
Excellent condition
The painting is still on its original canvas.
This beautiful painting, very pleasant and decorative, clearly reflects the most typical landscape of the 18th century.
The Arcadian description of the landscape leads us to the production of Francesco Zuccarelli, who after working in Florence for Paolo Anesi, from whom he assimilated a remarkable technique, moved to Venice, where he completed his career as an extraordinary Rococo landscape painter.
His painting, like that of his Venetian contemporaries Canaletto, Giuseppe Zais, and Antonio Diziani, was particularly appreciated abroad, especially by English collectors who came to Italy.
This small canvas comes from an English collection and was perfectly accompanied by a beautiful gilded Rocaille frame with an attribution plaque in England.
