Caucasus, late 1800s. Very rare Caucasian Chichi nomadic rug in exceptional condition, with primitive mixed symbology and plant-based colors. The item is intact, including the ends. It retains the original nineteenth-century import seal. Dimensions: 180 x 128 cm. Chichi rugs with crab borders are very rare (Eder Aschenbrenner - Oriental Rugs - cf. 363). The field features a splendid madder red background. Pleasant subtle Abrash. In excellent condition, noteworthy restorations are almost absent, pile and colors are preserved.
