Pair of hand-painted polychrome porcelain sculptures depicting the allegory of abundance, two peasants, a girl and a young boy, holding fruit and grapes baskets.
Both porcelain figures have wonderful details stand on a golden circular base, decorated with curled capitals and vegetal motifs.
In good condition, both figures come from a private collection of Milan, date back to second half of 20th century, 1960s circa and have crowned N blue marks of Capodimonte Manifacture, and G. Cappè artist signature on the base.
Giuseppe Cappé, famous Italian artist (born in Milan in 1921, died in Lomagna 2008).
He dedicated life to creation and realization of porcelain works. Combined the Baroque root with the popular Verist tradition and the Neoclassical one, combining this with an original commitment to humorous invention.
One minimal loss: the tip of the stick of the boy, can be restored, upon request.
