Antique Singing Bird Cage a German Karl Griesbaum brass model dating back to 1920’s circa. This Wunderkammer curiosity is in good age related condition. The bird sings loud and clear, moving its head, beak and tail.
Working authentic and original movement, marked on the bottom with a K G initials and a bird engraved, the logo of the firm Griesbaum founded in 1905 in Germany, in the Black Forest, in Triberg, Baden-Wurttemberg, by Karl Griesbaum (1872-1941). He is the son of the famous clockmaker Mathias Griesbaum.
The cage of this singing bird cage is made of gilt brass, gilding and feathering show signs of wear consistent with use and age, but is still in beautiful condition and most important, the music box is in good working condition.
