16th-century walnut chest

Beautiful large and high walnut chest from the late 16th century, sculpted columns with grotesque masks and fantastically carved feet with leonine figures, rich ironwork (key not present). A secret door had been made in the back of the chest to access a secret compartment in the wall, but the original material is still intact. Exceptional patina. Measures 160 x 56, height 79 cm
