Pair of splendid white and blue two-handled jars, Deruta, first half of the seventeenth century.

This beautiful pair of globular pharmacy jars are two-handled and equipped with a rather unusual element for this type of object, namely, a pouring spout located in the lower part and pointing downwards, therefore the contents were probably stopped by a special cap. The vases are decorated entirely in white and blue monochrome with acanthus leaf plant elements that fill the entire surface framing the cartouche: OL . Hyperica Gimpl / OL. Violatum. The beautiful, intact handles curl into spirals and overlook the two leonine masks in blue. The vases are in good condition, with some slight surface chipping and show no obvious restorations. The dimensions are 33cm high x 34cm of max. width x 12cm of diameter of the upper mouth. The objects are sold in pairs.
