Mother and Son in a burst of light, surrounded by a series of scenes from the Gospels of the New Testament. The fifteen images are described with excellent miniature painting that manages to capture the smallest details of the landscapes and characters that animate the scenes. The sequence of the episodes depicted follows the sense from left to right, maintaining the chronology of the events: The Annunciation, The Visitation, The birth of Jesus, The Presentation at the Temple, Jesus among the doctors, The Transfiguration, The Flagellation, The Crowning with Thorns, The Ascent to Calvary, The Crucifixion, The Resurrection, The Ascension, The Descent of the Holy Spirit, The Assumption of the Virgin, The Coronation of the Virgin. At the bottom, on both sides of the panel, two groups of Saints prostrate themselves at the feet of the "Mater Dei Regina Mundi." The excellent condition of the Icon allows us to grasp the perfection of all the images in every detail. The work, of evident figurative effectiveness, is distinguished by the great variety of the chromatic range, where warm and vibrant colors stand out, which stand out on the gold background and are typical of the Russian school of Palekh.
