Attilio Bozino (born in Sostegno - VC in 1890 and died in 1973) studied at the Albertina Academy of Turin with Giacomo Grosso from 1906 to 1913 and later at the one in Rome with Antonio Mancini and Giulio Aristide Sartorio. He was a pilot soldier in the First World War. He exhibited in several exhibitions from Florence to the Venice Biennale, from Genoa to Turin, Milan and Rome. In 1940 the king bought a pastel from him and he received the silver medal for the figure from the Ministry of Public Education. The painting in question, dated 1937, fits perfectly into this period representing a child in a rural context with characteristics in the clothes of the regime of the time. A serene interpretation of a happy childhood, underlined by the smile and the joyful gaze. Excellent state of conservation. Signed and dated lower left
