Oil painting, sepia monochrome, depicting Hippodamia Veiled "Nova Nuptia", inspired by the stone fragment present in the National Roman Museum at Palazzo Altemps in Rome. This painting was executed during the Grand Tour period towards the end of the 18th century, early 19th century, following the studies of Winckelmann which traces all that is harmonious and good following the neoclassical thought and current. Dim. 94 cm x 50.5 cm light only painting The frame is not antique. The painting has been relined and has some minor restoration. Period: Late 18th century, early 19th century.
