Pair of Venetian Blackamoors Reggicero Venice First Half 19th Century

Pair of blackamoor torch holders resting on bases, Venice first half of the 19th century. Blackamoors carved and lacquered, dressed with robe and shoes gilded in Mecca and multicolored; with their arm raised they support a base for a candle, while in the other they hold a small plate. The two blackamoors rest on as many lacquered octagonal bases, decorated with marbleized elements and a pair of carved and gilded leonine protomes. Plates are not contemporaneous.
