Description:
Interesting embossed copper panel (55 cm high, 80 cm wide) made by the artist Franco d'Aspro, a well-known 20th-century Italian sculptor who worked extensively in Sardinia, his adopted land, from 1940 onwards. Franco d'Aspro is best known for his bronze and silver sculptures with ancient Sardinian themes. The copper panel with small silver inclusions (photo #4), an uncommon artwork of its kind, represents two women among trees. Signed d'Aspro in the lower right (photo #6): it is in excellent condition. We have a second panel: Click here to view the second panel of the same kind. Franco d'Aspro's works are present in various museum sites including the Galleria Comunale d'Arte in Cagliari, the Pinacoteca Comunale and the Civic Archaeological Museum of Sinnai, the Territorial Public Body of Tertenia, and others: see the Cultural Heritage Catalog website.
