Winged lion-shaped stone base  Translated
Description:
This is a fragment of a sculpture depicting a winged lion, carved in Verona stone, probably dating back to the 1500s. The lion, a symbol of strength and royalty, has a powerful physiognomy, with a mane carefully sculpted around the face. The wings, which extend laterally in a symmetrical manner, indicate a connection with symbolic iconographies of the Renaissance, where winged lions often represented power and dominion. In the lower part there are floral decorations in relief and a base adorned with geometric and curvilinear motifs. Time has left signs of wear on the surface, highlighting some erosions, but the sculpture still maintains its solemnity and artistic detail. Width 40 height 38 depth 50  Translated
