17th century, Friulian/Venetian painter, oil on canvas copy of the martyrdom of Saint Sebastian by Jacopo Negretti Palma il Giovane from around 1590. The original is located at the Milwaukee Art Museum in the United States. The work is in completely original condition, with patina and signs of age consistent with its antiquity. There are visible, circumscribed paint losses in marginal areas of the work. It is currently framed with a later frame from the second half of the 19th century / separable from it. It is a fascinating, unrestored antique work. It can be acquired in its current condition or a conservative/integrative restoration intervention can be performed. Canvas dimensions without frame: 71 x 90 cm.
