Description:
Unusual and elegant document cabinet made in the Edwardian period and consisting of two elements: the base, with threaded front doors and inlaid with geometric patterns in various woods. Top with throat frame (h. cm.93), tilting doors inside which we find three document compartments per side which can be locked in the position of use (horizontally) by means of a stop (photo n°4). Externally, under each door we find a hand-carved crescent motif (photo n°5). The internal compartments have hinges that make them mobile and allow the extraction of documents with ease. In the upper part, a riser (cm.68; h.47) with original beveled mirror from the period (cm.48; h.37). Pyramidal trunk legs high cm.32. Being recently restored it is in excellent condition.
